From what I understand, the Cape May
Point sand is actually many bits of quartz from the Appalachian
mountains that have over time traveled down the Delaware River,
after its formation by glaciers. People call the clear shiney
pieces Cape may Diamonds :) I always see kids searching the beach
for them and saving them. There is a children's book titled
something like The Legend of the Cape May Diamonds. - Sue
