Final Evaluation

If you lost your form, or if you would prefer to word process your answers, here's a Word Document of the evaluation. I must have these by June 9th.

2006 Images

The pictures are back! I've created a page for you to view and use them. Enjoy!

Alba Patera Link

For the two groups doing Alba Patera, here's the link to the image. This is the best! Wait until you see what they've done for you!

JMARS IMAGING SOFTWARE

PART 1

PART 2

PART 3

This is the software you will use to target the surface of Mars. It would really help if you went through this powerpoint before you actually go to the computer lab on the 10th or 11th. I'll walk you through it at our next meeting, but it would be great if you were to a point where you wanted questions answered instead of seeing it for the first time.

ASU IMAGE PROCESSING CURRICULUM

At least one member in each team must become proficient at using Photoshop to label and measure your images. Everything you need will be found on this page. We have Photoshop on the computers at school, or you can do this at home.

MAPPING MARS BLOG

This will be our main line of communication. Visit it often. I would go on at least twice a week as a minimum.  If you post to the blog, you should get a reply within 24 hours. Once several days before your group meeting, and then again about two days after.

WEEKLY LOG

Visit here to see my weekly journal.

TEAM E & TEAM F

2005 PROPOSALS

Go back and take a look at what we did then.

REGISTRATION

The software downloads, and e-mail registrations listed on this page should really help you with your work.

 TIMELINE

Here is a tentative guide to our progress through MSIP. Nothing is definite here, but at least we have a plan!

A PLACE TO START

It's really important that you get off to a good start. Go to this site to look at some old Global Surveyor images of Mars to see what you can do. These images might spark some questions in your mind. Remember, the scientific method doesn't work the way they say it does in a textbook, or in the labs we do. Science works by having someone look at something and saying "That's funny. Why did it do that?"

MARS LINKS

Just what it claims to be - a link to all of the important Mars sites you might want to visit doing your proposal.

CITATION MACHINE

Never worry about the proper format for a bibliographical reference again! Go here to solve all of your bibliography formatting problems. You must have the basic information before you go to this site - it won't find the information for you! Use the MLA format.

ASU EVALUATION GUIDELINES

Everything you do must be based on these guidelines. Never forget that. If your proposal doesn't fit this set of guidelines, it will be rejected.

ROLES

There are many different tasks in MSIP. Hopefully, you'll grow as a result of participating in this great experience.

RUBRICS

Each week you will receive two grades on MSIP. One of these will be given by your Leader for your individual contribution. The second will be given by me for the group. In addition, there will be major grades as each section of the proposal is completed.

PDF DOCUMENTS

Lost a paper? Need a second copy? Here's the place to go. In addition, go here for a listing of the complete ASU library of PDF documents on MSIP!
